How do I Apply for Admission?
|
Application materials and a copy of the LSUE Catalog are
available from the LSUE Admissions Office, P. O. Box 1129,
Eunice, LA 70535; (337) 550-1305.
The catalog is also
available in PDF format on-line.
The office is located in Room 102, Manuel Hall (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
weekdays).
The Application for
Admission to LSUE is now online!
You must contact the Business Office to make payment
arrangements for your $25 Application Fee by calling
(337)550-1262. Unless you graduated from high school before
2004, neither you nor your high school will have to send a
transcript to LSUE. By submitting your application online, you
authorize the LSUE Admissions Office to request your transcript
electronically via the Louisiana Board of Regents' and
Department of Education's Student Transcript System.
In addition to submitting an
application, state law requires that all students submit
immunization records or sign a waiver. You may choose to
electronically sign the waiver when you submit your application
online or
you may download
the Immunization Form
for submission to the Office of Student Affairs, located in Room
112 of the Acadian Center, (337) 550-1217 |

Do I have to
take the ACT exam to be admitted?
No.
LSUE is an open admissions university. Although taking the exam is
helpful in determining your academic placement in Math, Reading,
English, and Science, you may enter LSUE in full standing without taking
and submitting ACT exam scores. However, if ACT scores are not
submitted, students will be automatically placed in developmental
coursework.

What does "open
admissions" University mean?
As
an open admission university, LSUE accepts all graduates of
state-approved high schools, as well as persons holding the G.E.D

Must I
attend orientation before entering LSUE?
Yes, for all
incoming freshman students attending LSUE main campus and LCRP campus.
Get

where you can also register online for orientation.
Off-campus students may be waived attendance of the orientation session
and allowed and orientation over the phone by his/her advisor. This is
allowed only after review and approval from LSUE Advisior and Registrar.

I have accessed the myLSUE registration system and I have a "hold"
preventing registration?
The "hold"
preventing clearance and registration will be listed under your name and
Student ID number in the myLSUE registration system. Review the "hold"
and call the phone number included to take care of the situation causing
the hold. If there is no phone number available, contact the LSUE
Admissions office at 337-550-1305 for assistance.

I have an
Immunization "hold" on my account. What must I do?
Print and
complete this
form
then submit it to the Student Affairs office in Acadian Center 112. You
may also mail the form to Office of Student Affairs, P.O. Box 1129,
Eunice, LA 70535 or you may fax it to 337-550-1266.

When is registration
conducted?
Regular registration is held in late August for the fall semester, in
early January for the spring semester, and in early June for the summer
semester. Students who apply in time may take part in early
registration, held during November and April. Specific dates for each
year are contained in the LSUE Catalog. With the addition of the
my.LSUE system, students who have been cleared to register now have the
option of enrolling in classes for an upcoming semester in advance of
the regular registration period.

How can I be cleared to
register?
On-campus
students must meet with advisor during posted office hours or at a
scheduled appointment. The student must have a completed "trial
schedule" to be reviewed and approved by the advisor.
Off-campus students may schedule a meeting with advisor, email, or call
by phone. Information to be provided to the advisor will be a "trial
schedule" of courses wishing to register. The advisor will either
approve or reject the course(s) submitted in the myLSUE Advising Form.
Any questions or concerns must be brought to the attention of the
advisor.

What type of financial aid is available?
Financial Aid is available in several forms. For details on
LA TOPS,
LA TOPS-Tech
(Fire & Emergency Service Program Students are eligible for TOPS-Tech), grants, loans,
work-study aid, contact the Financial Aid Office. The Office of Student
Affairs has information on general scholarships. The Louisiana State
Fireman's Association awards two $500 scholarships per year to selected
fire and emergency service students. Click

What housing accommodations are available while I attend LSUE?
Students are responsible for their own housing accommodations;
Bengal Village provides on-campus, apartment style living at an affordable price.
However, a limited number of students are accepted by local fire departments as resident volunteer firemen. These positions provide housing in exchange for service after regular class hours and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For details, contact the LSUE Fire
and Emergency Services Program Director.

What is ISO 9002 accreditation?
The LSUE Division of Business and Technology is one of the first academic units in the United States to have its associate degree and certificate programs ISO-9002 accredited. This accreditation signifies that all of these academic programs meet the standards set by the International Organization for Standardization for comparable businesses and other institutions around the world.
